Head of the Des Moines

I've kind of made it one of my personal activities to see the annual Head of the Des Moines Regatta. I like to be along the river before the events really get started. As the events unfold, the variety of uniforms and shells makes for some nice visuals. Sometimes I can hear the people calling out orders to one another as they row up the river.
